About Me

Zephram Petrik is a portrait, sports, and event photographer born in Langley, who now lives and works in Clearwater, British Columbia.

Enamored with cameras since early childhood, Zephram soon discovered the value of capturing unforgettable moments of life, as his family was diligent in keeping records of their history in countless photo albums. He was fascinated by how much a person can learn about other people, cultures, and traditions through the art of photography. Eager to learn more, he brought his camera with him everywhere he went. He believes that every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow as a person, and so he loves to travel–though he gets homesick before too long.

A professional photographer since 2018, Zephram worked with several non-profit organizations in Clearwater, preserving the history happening around him. He then went on to work with one of the largest private newspaper publishers in Canada. Over the years he has captured everything from high-energy, game-changing moments in sports tournaments, to solemn local marches honouring veterans, to newly-graduated students with their caps gleefully high in the air. His mantra is, “They say the winners write history, but the artists will tell the truth.” His photography style is honest and unflinching, while also bringing attention to the details often missed. With an eagle eye for “the big moment” honed from his 2 years working alongside seasoned journalists, he not only tells a story in a photo, but conveys the emotion of the moment in plain view.

Zephram’s next goals in his profession are to create a steady business to distribute his art, allowing him to experiment freely with new subjects and styles. He also hopes to reignite a passion for photography in young adults. After all, the next generation of photographers are our future, and the path to the best future is through understanding and respecting the past as well as the present. Finally, he looks forward to the day he has amassed enough photos to fill countless photo albums with for his children and grandchildren. A loving husband and father before all else, Zephram cherises both his community’s memories, and the memories he continues to make with his family in beautiful British Columbia.
